Description:
James Suckling 91
“Aromas of blueberry and blackberry follow through to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish.”-JS
“Ruby-red in color (advancing to garnet), this wine is bursting with notes of strawberry, red berries, sage, spice cake and subtle earth on the nose. It is vibrant and medium bodied, revealing lively cherry and exotic spice and leading to polished tannins and a delicate finish.
Pairs well with most types of grilled, barbecued, marinated, roasted and stuffed meats and fish. Blend: 95% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo.”-Winemaker’s Notes
“The Castello d'Albola estate is situated above the town of Radda, nearly 2,000 feet above sea level, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in the province of Siena, Tuscany. Established in the 11th century, Castello d'Albola was initially owned by the Monterinaldi family. Over the centuries it was transferred to the Samminiati, Pazzi and Ginori-Conti families, and finally to the Zonin family.”-Winery Notes
