The Perfect Wines for Your Summer BBQ! Thu, Jul 20, 23 | weekly wine wine bbq wine The Perfect Wines for Your Summer BBQ! We are in the middle of summer and hot temps make us what to open up some great wines for our summer BBQs! We’ve got four great ones to start. First is the St. Hilaire Cremant de Limoux, if you ever see the word Cremant think French Sparkling wine that isn’t Champagne. Limoux is an area in near the French boarder with Spain. The wines from the region are fresh, vibrant and gulpable! Did we mention they are also a wonderful price? Pop a bottle while grilling up some of your favorite dishes this summer! Moving away from bubbles, and from France, we’ll head to try Argentina to try some delicious reds. Starting out we have a Dharma Red Blend, a split between Cab Franc and Malbec this wine shows off nice dense notes of dark berries and a bit of spice. We think this is the one to have with your thick ribeye! Next, we’ll try an Argentine classic, Malbec! The Alberti Malbec is everything we look for in the grape, bold but not too heavy, bright but not too light. Red fruit and blackberry notes come through with a bit of dark cherries and mocha. To us nothing quite says BBQ wine like Malbec, grab a couple of bottles of Alberti Malbec and a stack of ribs and have yourself a fantastic cookout! Finally we are going are trying one of our new favorites, the Olvidado Tempranillo. Typically, when we think Tempranillo we think Spain, but if this bottle is any indication more people should be making it in Argentina! Great red fruit aromas along with a dried earth note make for a well-balanced wine that is just craving some food. We think it would be great with something light like grilled salmon, or something a bit heartier like a thick burger or a perfectly cooked sirloin. Stop by our downtown store on Friday 7/21 to give these wines a try. Can’t do that? You can stop by your local Crown or buy online! By Luke Stephenson
